(iv) All fixed wings to climb above 600ft before commencing departure turns. DEPARTURE RUNWAY 20 - AIRCRAFT MUST MAKE A 10 DEGREE TURN TO THE RIGHT AT THE RAILWAY LINE FOR NOISE ABATEMENT, UNTIL REACHING THE COAST THEN A FURTHER LEFT OR RIGHT TURN AS REQUIRED. (v) RWY 02 approach has a displaced threshold due to elevated railway line along the southern aerodrome boundary. Local Area: Parham Gliding Site (10nm NW of Shoreham) and Ringmer Gliding Site (3nm NE of Lewes VRP) are active all year - Pilots should expect intense gliding activity north of the South Downs. Intense microlight/paraglider activity from Devils Dyke (2nm north of Brighton) and along the South Downs).

High Visibility Clothing:
High visibility clothing must be worn in the correct manner when airside. Passengers not wearing such clothing must be escorted by someone who is. High Visibility waistcoats can be purchased from the airport visitor and information centre.
