(iv) All fixed wings to climb above 600ft before commencing departure turns.
DEPARTURE RUNWAY 20 - AIRCRAFT MUST MAKE A 10 DEGREE TURN TO THE RIGHT AT THE RAILWAY LINE FOR NOISE         ABATEMENT, UNTIL REACHING THE COAST THEN A FURTHER LEFT OR RIGHT TURN AS REQUIRED.
(v) RWY 02 approach has a displaced threshold due to elevated railway line along the southern aerodrome boundary.

Local Area: Parham Gliding Site (10nm NW of Shoreham) and Ringmer Gliding Site (3nm NE of Lewes VRP) are active all year - Pilots should expect intense gliding activity north of the South Downs.

Intense microlight/paraglider activity from Devils Dyke (2nm north of Brighton) and along the South Downs).

Shoreham–by–Sea, 1 mile (1.6 km) east of airfield.
Brighton, 7 miles (11km) east of airfield.
Worthing, 5 miles (7.5 km) west of airfield.

Nearest Station : Shoreham-by-Sea.
Trains to London-Victoria, London-Gatwick Airport, Brighton,
Worthing, Southampton, Portsmouth, Chichester.

High Visibility Clothing:
High visibility clothing must be worn in the correct manner when airside. Passengers not wearing such clothing must be escorted by someone who is.
