Visit from Merlin
There was a musical "extravaganza" at Glynde House this weekend and several "vintage" planes were due. In the event, the weather was sufficiently bad to prevent some, but Carolyn Grace brought her famous Grace Spitfire here and parked it on the grass. A little while later, a Storch arrived in full colour for refuelling. Mrs Grace seemed to be well acquainted with the pilot and helped balance the Storch while it was being refuelled as it looked as though it could topple in the gusty wind at the time.

It designed and produced some excellent aircraft. In June there is to be a Miles Celebration day, but today saw the "homecoming" of a real milestone in the history of Beagle.. the prototype of their famous Beagle 206 aircraft.

On Tuesday December 9th the latest arrival was delivered and assembled. This is a prototype Tornado with the registration XX947. The aircraft arrived in pieces on various lorries and was assembled by a small army of aircraft workers and hoisted into position by a giant crane.
