Tornado Fighter Jet Guards Transair’s HQ
Tornado XX947 was the second prototype aircraft to be constructed and was used extensively for flight-testing. Her maiden flight was from Bae Warton on 5th August 1975. She was used extensively in the development of the Tornado and has flown 1,830 hours. After completion of its test flying, the aircraft was subsequently used as a weapons-loading procedure trainer at RAF Marham. This aircraft is of historical importance and Transair are very proud that she is now at Shoreham Airport.

The Tornado is the RAF’s first swing-wing, Multi-Role Combat Aircraft (MRCA) and to date over 900 Tornados have been built. The type is expected to continue in service until at least 2020.
